2012 COMPANY ONE AWARD WINNERS:

CHRISTOPHER S. ROBINSON (The David Wheeler Award): Christopher S. Robinson is currently the full time Staff Interpreter at Boston University and a certified facilitator. In this capacity, he mentors ASL Interpreters, students of interpreting and is a practicum supervisor for ASL/English interpreting students. He is an Associate member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and a full member of the National Alliance of Black Interpreters. As one of a small core of Stagesource members who are ASL Interpreters for the Performing Arts, he coordinates ASL Interpretation for Boston University and touring Broadway productions in Boston.

Much of his work as an American Sign Language Interpreter has been influenced by his conversations with the late August Wilson.  Christopher has worked as an interpreter August Wilson's Fences, King Hedley ll, Radio Golf, Jitney and Gem of the Ocean. He also interpreted A Raisin in the Sun, directed by Kenny Leon and starring the late Esther Rolle . ASL interpreted musical productions have included: A Year with Frog and Toad, Seussical, Grease, Lion King, Miss Saigon, Avenue Q and Rock of Ages, Godspell and most recently The Gerschwin's Porgy and Bess at the American Reperetory Theatre. His stage and television credits include The Meeting at the Palace Theatre in Manchester NH and the featured role of David Walker in the PBS series Slavery In the Making of America.

CRISTINA M. TODESCO (The Lois Roach Award): Cristina has worked as a scenic designer for various theater companies in and around the Boston area such as Company One, New Repertory Theater, Speakeasy Stage, Orfeo Group,  Huntington Theater Company, Actor's Shakespeare Project, Stoneham Theater, Lyric Stage Company, Gloucester Stage, The Nora, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Opera Boston, Williamstown Theater Festival, as well as the Summer Play Festival, the Culture Project at the Barrow Street Theater and the Olney Theater Center. She is the recipient of several IRNE and Elliot Norton award nominations and has received two Elliot Norton Awards for Outstanding Set Design: The Clean House (New Rep) in 2008 and The Aliens (Company One) in 2011. As a scenic designer, Cristina has also worked for Suffolk University, Boston University, Boston College, and Harvard University. With Company One, design credits include Mr. Marmalade, The Bluest Eye, The Pain and the Itch, The Good Negro, Grimm, The Aliens, and 1001. She was the scenic designer for the three play Annie Baker Festival (Circle Mirror Transformation, Body Awareness, and The Aliens) which marked the first collaboration between the Huntington Theater, Speakeasy Stage and Company One. Cristina received her MFA in scenic design from Boston University, and BFA in Painting from the School of Visual Artsat BU. She currently teaches in the theater departments at Boston University and Boston College.
